Carlos:Well guys, thanks for having we got
Johnny Mansun:number one here insider Carlos with us. We what we had to bring him on to the podcast to give us some inside perspective from a true diehard heat fan. Not to say that we're not but I feel like Carlos is a level above us. Would you agree? Yeah. Okay. So yeah, what's up, bro? Where are you? Where are you? I can't talk. Where would you like to start?
Zach:Shit. I mean, we could start with Jimmy Butler's performance last Yeah. So
Johnny Mansun:game to Jimmy Butler drop 45 Five and five, which is?
Zach:I think none of that's possible if he's not shooting those trees. Like I've been, you know, telling him to do for the longest right.
Johnny Mansun:So Carla? So Zack has been talking shit. And I think I do do about this a little while ago. That, you know, like when it was like March and Jimmy Butler was shooting like 19% from the three. And Zach was talking all this shit saying we're not going to do shit in the in the playoffs? Like we're not gonna win the chip. Because, you know, we don't have a good enough team. Jimmy Butler can't shoot all this stuff. And here he is. What's the stat I think he's shooting right now. Or in the last 18 games. He's shooting something like 56% in the last 12 games. Yep. So yeah.
Unknown:So I mean, I was kind of with Zack, I think he had every right to be kind of not scared going into the postseason. But we saw it last year in the sweep where, you know, when we played the pucks, you get Brook Lopez in the drop, and they gave him all the space to shoot. And if he's not hitting them, they're not gonna respect him. And if he goes in with just with a little height, it's gonna give us problems. Right? So in this, you know, that's why we didn't like the Cleveland matchup because of jared allen, or even Mobley. And luckily, we haven't seen Clint capela. And this one, even though I don't think it makes much of a difference. But you see how, how much of a difference it makes, you know, he doesn't have to make five threes. But he makes one or two before halftime, and the defense respects him a little more. And then he can have whatever he wants, and the posts are going right,
Zach:exactly. Like you said, it's not even about him making it it's just about like getting the respect, you know what I mean?
Johnny Mansun:And to get that respect, you have to make it sometimes. And he's been making it a lot actually recently, which is really, really nice to
Zach:see. You are right, because otherwise they'll just Russell Westbrook, you out there. The thing is,
Johnny Mansun:is that, you know, I'm not I didn't bring that up to say that I wasn't also concerned. But what I know of Jimmy Butler is that when it comes playoff time, he's going to show up, you know, and I feel like a lot of people, especially in the national media, were saying, Oh, who's the Miami heats closer, they don't have a closer, Jimmy Butler goes out and puts 45 on on Atlanta's head. And then everyone's like, Oh, my God, Jimmy Butler, and they're mentioning him with D Wade, and LeBron. And, you know, like, I don't know, can we actually I'd like for you to vent a little bit for us and for our audience about how terrible the national coverage has been, especially from ESPN. On the Miami Heat.
Unknown:Oh, it's awful. I mean, I think you said it. But a couple practices ago, they asked him the same thing. He brought it up. I mean, it's just not a sexy team, right. Like, we don't got a 30 point for game guy. We don't have guys that go off for 40 every couple of weeks. We don't have, you know, we don't have that much drama. And well, we did have drama. Oh, no, we were on undisputed the next morning. And of course, hey. And so we're very even. That's not to say that there isn't drama. It's just Miami's a first class organization. going to we're going to be the last ones to hear of anything, if anything were to happen. So when the outbursts happened on the bench, oh, no, it's or the heat crumbling or the Celtics kind of take the first seat. Can we take that seriously, and it's just the same thing over and over. But that's cool. To me wins talk playoff wins talk, I don't think we need that 30 point for me. We didn't need it in 2020. We were to two wins away from number four. So they can keep ignoring as long as we keep winning these playoff games. They're gonna be forced to talk about us once we get to the end.
Johnny Mansun:Right. And I feel like you're seeing that right now. You know, as we take care of the Hawks, and as Philadelphia takes care of Toronto, I think that matchup of Philly Miami, especially with the history of Jimmy Butler playing for Philly is very enticing to the national media and they want to talk about it. Especially with him being arguably the best player in the league this year.
Unknown:Yeah, so we're on a collision course with them. I mean, yeah, it's gonna be a great series. I can't wait for tomorrow's game and see, as long as we go through all the coffee, but the first two days, we have been pretty comfortable saying that it'll be fairly.
Johnny Mansun:Me too. I think Zack agrees.
Zach:Yeah, I agree with that. I just have Wonder Man, that Philly series, you know, like, I love bam, and I think BAM can guard and be but you know, opinions have been on a crazy tear and like, who can really guard him? You know what I mean?
Johnny Mansun:Right? But not not no one open? If?
Zach:And when would you get some foul trouble and shit. You know, like, that's gonna put us in some shape. Because now if it's just Deadman, you know, down there wit and be like, yeah, that's come on. And then
Johnny Mansun:if we have to go somewhere like year seven. Yeah, a year. If we gotta go to year seven, like then we're struggling for real, because, you know, Carlos has pointed this out to me before that, you know, he he's, he's a great rebounder, but his defense really needs to improve. But we're such a deep team. I'm really not worried about foul trouble. Because ultimately, small ball is what's really dominating the league right now. And you look when you look at Golden State, you look at Steph Curry, Klay, Thompson, Jordan pool, you see how devastating that is for teams to compete against. And I think that Miami is playing that game. And I love it. Because I think that's how you win championships in the league. In this league in this in this day and age.
Zach:So if we were to go to the conference finals, and I'm gonna say we are right. And we had to play either Milwaukee, Boston or Brooklyn. Do you see us beating either, though, see,
Johnny Mansun:we could beat all those teams. I'm not scared of any of those teams, to be honest with you. Now with Chris Middleton out, number one. Number two, I'm not scared of Brooklyn at all. They can't play defense. They're not coached well, and they have to good players who if they're not shooting lights out. They can't even hang in
Zach:the game. Simmons is coming back though. So it's definitely going to change then Simmons is a brick though. So
Johnny Mansun:like, follow him at the end of the Game and
Zach:Watch. Watch. Yeah,
Johnny Mansun:that'd be good. We're not playing Brooklyn because not getting past the Celtics. Go ahead, Carlos.
Unknown:I don't see the the interest in Ben Simmons coming back. We're talking about a guy who's been gone for a year. Right. And he's not coming back during regular season games. on a on a minute restriction. warm him up. Are you gonna play off game if he comes out? He looks rusty. That could that's an L your game closer to elimination? I don't and he's not, you know, this. This ultra telling them LeBron or Durant is expensive. And if you're getting a 50% that is gonna make that much of a difference.
Zach:I understand that rationale. I just think we're under estimating Ben Simmons. Because I think that all Ben Simmons has to do in this series is go out there. play good defense, right. Lock up. You know, whoever Jalen brown Jason Tatum, one of those two, for whatever possession it is, you know, give Cady the time to not have to sit there and you know, sweat his ass off the whole game and then make good passes, which he can do you know, and then get some easy layups. And that's literally all he's gonna have to do so
Unknown:I'll take him over Patty Mills or Dragas right now because I don't know if you saw dragon lost out there bro. Like he can't get past anyone. All his shots are contested and it's I just feel bad for the dude.
Johnny Mansun:Josh was cooking a little bit in that in that game yesterday. I don't know if you if you saw it, bro. He hit like four six shots or something.
Unknown:Yeah, but when you think that just two seasons ago, this guy was averaging 2122 For for one of the top teams in the east just to see him now. Chugging over d3 got the shot clocks running out.
Johnny Mansun:It's a he's on a he's on a way worse team, in my opinion. For sure. And without worse organization. So couple a couple stats, right, exactly, exactly. So a couple stats we got here. So most points through the opening two games have a playoff campaign in history. We have Jimmy Butler at 66 points, which is this this year. We have LeBron at 59 points we have Dwayne Wade at 55 points. Like I said Jimmy Butler's shooting 56% on catch and shoot threes over his last 12 games. And most threes by he player in a playoff game was just set in game one by Duncan Robinson. But the next three records are also by Duncan Robinson at seven in 21. And then twice in 2020.
Zach:I was asking John this a couple days ago. Is Duncan Rob Duncan Robinson make like the Miami Heat like all time team, like on 2k, or whatever you gave me.
Unknown:Like top tier team. Yeah. See make it if you get the chip out, I would throw him in
Zach:without the chip just saying right now.
Unknown:Now with three championship things, man, you could probably have seen
Zach:better players than you probably could but like it's like, I feel like he makes it
Johnny Mansun:to the championship making
Unknown:like that. That 10 to 15 range.
Zach:Because it's like he owns all the three playmakers now,
Johnny Mansun:but the game has changed drastically and literally such.
Unknown:I was seeing that stat. I was thinking like, Yo, they had Mike Miller running around the half court coming off, dribble handoff, and running through two dudes like what dude would have two back surgeries. It would be in Baptists every week, like, like he does not that type of game no more. Yeah, you right. Now, if Mike Miller was doing that today at 25 years old, I'm sure he'd be great too. But it is a different game.
Johnny Mansun:Right? I totally agree. So assuming that the he made the hot the heat meet the Sixers in the second round? Who do you have winning that series and how many games
Unknown:I'm gonna go heated. I'm gonna go in and say to start as Jimmy Butler Aaron Miami they've always they've paired really, really well get the Sixers at at home at Philly some games with Jimmy seventh up Tyler. When I remember now is that gave Vince end game this season what was clearly Kyle Lowry and shooters. We've been on like 20 You know they've always fared well against them. We've got the defenders for heart in for Tyree. Joining beat is going to give us problems. We're not going to stop him.
Johnny Mansun:But he does everyone problems. Yeah, exactly.
Unknown:Like I remember that series in 2018 when we played them in the first round you know he was having his way with anyone like Whiteside Bam is a different band now and we obviously there's no Hassan. So I think I give the heat given.
Johnny Mansun:Okay, what do you got Zach? I
Zach:don't know for sure. He didn't six in six. Because I think James Harden might have one game where he goes off after being like locked up for like four three, you know, but my thing is, is on Boston.
Johnny Mansun:Let me get to my tape real fast. And then we'll cover the other side. I actually I feel like it'd be heating seven. I feel like the heat. I feel like the heat, close it out at home and game seven and really earn their way to that Eastern Conference Finals and take care of business and make it to the finals.
Zach:How do you see Philly beating us like three times?
Johnny Mansun:I think that going away to Philly isn't going to be easy, especially because we have a lot of guys who are untested in the playoffs. A lot of young guys a lot of undrafted guys that granted are very talented have a lot of potential I just haven't seen them do it in the playoffs and I haven't really seen them do it in the first two games of this year. So I don't think that's a lock. So I'm kind of under estimating the heat in the sense just because I haven't seen it but not because I believe necessarily that that's how they're going to perform. But it is the playoffs and we have to see what a lot of these guys are made out of we know a Jimmy's made out of we know a BAM can do in the playoffs with that block on Jason Tatum
Zach:no at Tyler.
Johnny Mansun:We know what Tyler can do. He hasn't been doing a lot recently, but he honestly really hasn't needed to Game One was a wash and Game Two Jimmy Butler was taking over so we'll see. But I have faith in him. But yeah, I don't know. You're right. How could I don't see? It's hard to see Philly beating us in our sorry, beating us three times. But they're gonna have three games at home. And I feel like they could win two of those and maybe steal one in Miami and like Game Two or something maybe? Or I don't know. But I just have a feeling that it's gonna be a really tough series that we're going to struggle to.
Zach:Well, you know, 10 Yeah, with Joel and B, you know, being the fall merchant he is or whatever I
Johnny Mansun:that's what I was gonna say. Like, we're gonna struggle to guard him and that's going to keep them in a lot of games.
Zach:As long as BAM doesn't get in foul trouble. I think we'll be good. But if Ben gets in foul trouble is going to be really tough.
Johnny Mansun:I honestly feel like Philly is going to be a harder team for us to beat than any of those three other teams. I think Milwaukee Boston or, or Brooklyn. I like all those matchups a little bit more actually, I'm not afraid of any of those teams, especially with Chris Middleton being out seeing how Milwaukee is playing this this playoff so far. I'm not scared of them at all. Not scared of Boston, Boston is cannot beat us. And I'm not scared to Brooklyn because we will beat them in five.
Zach:I mean, I don't know I think the way the rest that Boston play defense, you know,
Johnny Mansun:look at how the refs lead us by defense. We're both very we're two of the best defensive teams. I get the Celtics have the best team in that list. I think I think the heat in the Celtics have the best two teams and I just did not just because that
Zach:stars like Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum. I'm just like, it's gonna be hard, man.
Johnny Mansun:I feel you may be playing the Celtics.
Zach:I don't know, I'm just buckets when they want, you know what I mean. And then all the grass had been hitting shots and like they know how to play. They're just like, like a hard nosed team who like you know, plays their role and shit.
Johnny Mansun:What do you think Carlos? Who do you think gives the heat the most amount of problems in these playoffs?
Unknown:I'm gonna go with the Star Bar. I'm just gonna go with with with Boston here. I mean, like, we played them in the playoffs before, of course, it's a different time, a different team. younger players is a better Boston team. They're super well coached. You know, the defense is strong, like those final scores are going to be like 90 to 89. Like, it's going to come down to the big players making big shots towards the end, because I don't see any blowouts in those two games. And judging by how bosses are playing Brooklyn, that TD Garden looks like a super tough place to play. Like that arena is rockin whenever Kai returns it over wherever it is, like, so. You're talking about like the young players crumbling or whatever. I could see it. But you know, we just won these last two games by double digits or more. And we've gotten like nothing from them and kind of like in terms of scoring like less than 10 points. So I feel like each one of these guys is due for a big game. Like it could be Tyler tomorrow. It could be Kyle tomorrow. And like, you never know. That's why we're the first the first thing that eats because you just have these guys like Drew. Vincent Tyler just gonna give you 20 Plus One games. Well, Jimmy and Kyle will have a mimosa in the back. And we're going to win by 15 This has been that type of game.
Johnny Mansun:Right but that's been in the that's been in the regular season. And what I'm feeling is sort of like these guys are young, they're untested. I want to see how they fare in like a in like a TD in the garden or whatever. Like I want to see how they fare
Zach:they've been a lot man they've worn a lot earlier and even just walking they got some running so I think they'll be fine you know what I mean?
Johnny Mansun:But the pressure is higher it's not necessarily like just the crowd but like the pressure of the moment is bigger because it's the playoffs What if it's a game seven or like you know it's a two two series and you got to hit a shot to go up that to that three to like I guess
Zach:who do you trust more Payton Pritchard or fucking Max truce?
Johnny Mansun:I'm not scared of the Celtics. And that's what I'm saying. I'm a little more scared of like we
Unknown:did hit a game winner on it.
Johnny Mansun:So I'm just
Zach:You're right.
Johnny Mansun:I agree with you guys that Boston is a better team than Philly but I feel like how we match up I would be more concerned with Philly just because of Embiid and I think he's he's the best player on any of those three teams. And that's where I'm coming from I guess and also i don't know i don't know I'm not really scared of Doc Rivers. I don't think he's like an all time great coach necessarily like I wouldn't say he's like top 15 But maybe like top 25
Unknown:Yeah, I mean you have the right week is over the young guy but that's the exact reason the offseason look like the way it did. They didn't just go out and sign whoever like they got Kyle Lowry right aside from being Jimmy's boy and be one of the best point guards available on the market. He is a champion and the champion when go go win one in Golden State. And people forget that final game in Golden State to get the ring dude had what 25 Plus with like six or seven threes? Yeah, he went on the type of guy you want on the team PJ Tucker one one last year. Getting wherever I remember the offseason was between Kyle Lowry or Collin Sexton like that. For me. That was ridiculous to think about, I think you'd think kind of Laurie, you know, and 100% So you have a good blend of Beth and the young guys. Like I said, it's anyone who on any given night to give you a good boost,
Johnny Mansun:right? And I think our team is really really well constructed. I'm not and that's why I'm saying I'm not really afraid of any of these teams. I'm not I haven't been since the playoffs started are right before the playoffs and I was thinking about and looking at the league. I was I'm not scared of any one team in the east. I'm really not I think Miami can reasonably beat all of them. Any of them.
Zach:Alright, so saying that then you think we're gonna win the finals? Like
Johnny Mansun:Well, here's the thing. I don't know if we're going to win the finals. But I have a very very what would you say? That that we're going to make it to the finals? It I don't know, man, because when I think about it,
Zach:like I don't want it in the West that scares you. I
Johnny Mansun:mean, yeah, the only team, the only team in the West that scares me and I feel like Carlos is going to totally agree with me is Golden State. Yeah, as I say like, bro, what the fuck I mean, that's literally
Zach:I I mean Phoenix Steph Curry, pretty good. And I watched him literally I mean, DEVIN BOOKER is gonna
Johnny Mansun:Booker's out for three weeks in this series and the series is already won one Yeah, I mean bro New Orleans has a nasty roster and they don't have Zion back but they have a dirty
Unknown:yeah all they beat it it's time to gel and get put together they they've caught if they catch fire there's no better time than one one going back to New Orleans with Brandon Ingram McCollum Herb Jones balance I mean, they catch fire now like that team if it was you know, they played well together and handle that chemistry from from Game one in the regular season. That was the top six team that was the way they look.
Johnny Mansun:Especially with Zion back. Yeah,
Unknown:I can only imagine so because fire now it's not gonna be easy. I mean, Chris Paul is a seasoned vet and they still have bridges and eight and I think they'll still tough it out but not gonna be a walk in the park that a one in eight teacher look like?
Johnny Mansun:I think I think that the heat signal, I think that the heat heats chances winning of winning of finals goes up significantly. If Phoenix gets bounced by the pelicans, because then I think, yeah, there's no way the pelicans make it to the finals. And I just I just see a heat Golden State Warriors Collision Course, bro. I'm calling it right now. That's just what I see. I don't see anyone stopping the heat in the East. And I don't see anyone stopping Golden State in the West. I just don't

I know he's got a couple of weeks but if the honest is the MVP that he is on the defensive player of the year that he is he's got to carry bro because you know, that's what makes a champion. For me a championship teams or teams are like you're missing you're number one. You're number two. You still go through like I don't know if you guys remember one of the big three was around. Whenever LeBron or D Wade was out Chris Bosh would have a monster game with the other guys. It's like, that's just good coaching. And that's just like, guys stepping up that makes the championship team you're not a championship team if you're one guys out you're getting blown out by Courtney. Yeah, so not gonna count Milwaukee out but it is gonna be hard for them because he is that like you that that shot.
Johnny Mansun:Yeah, he's there. Number two. He's their best shot maker.
Zach:Yeah, dude on her walkie I'm really scared of
Johnny Mansun:he's the dude who hit the fucking game winner against us in the playoffs last year.
Zach:Completely. Yeah, bro that changed

Johnny Mansun:100%. And after the year before, where we beat them in the second round pretty easily. It seemed. Yeah, I think that they were already we were already in their heads thinking. I don't know how we're going to beat this team. Especially if we take game one.

Johnny Mansun:Yeah. So it says he's out for what, two or three weeks? Three to four weeks

I know they played an extensive period without CP three and they still got it done that's what I'm saying championship teams you miss you know guy one a or guy one beat. Johnny Mansun:Speaking of defense, defense bamps Not a top three defender in the league right now. What's going on? Carlos?

You know, you know, we get known as we get national TV appearances, but we don't get you know, like we don't get covered like sons do we don't get covered like the Celtics do. Yeah, so just for just to kind of play devil's advocate I was just say Golden State and seven but I want the heat to win. I think I believe they can do it. I've I truly feel like they will do it.
